A hosted double-entry ledger with an API, free to use today. Transactions always balance, entries are permanent and any balance can be proved, because the database enforces these rules as well as the application code.

What it does

Balanced at commit
When a transaction commits, the database enforces that debits equal credits for all assets in it.

Permanent journal
The journal has no edit or delete path. Corrections are posted as new, visible transactions.

Exact amounts
Amounts are whole minor units with a precision set per asset, and no approximate arithmetic is used.

No overdraft
Accounts have a declared floor. Ledger refuses a movement that would breach it, even under concurrent load.

Safe retries
Writes carry a key that you choose, and because of it a retry after a timeout cannot move value twice.

Isolated clients
Row-level isolation in the database fails closed. You can also give your own clients a separate ledger apiece.

Internal audit gates
We publish the findings of four internal audit gates, of adversarial re-audits and of the live probes that run continuously.

Machine-readable contract
Ledger has an OpenAPI document, an API explorer and an llms.txt for software agents.
