Exit and portability
Exit arrangements
Our systems are built on open, standard technology so that customers are never locked in.
Data in standard formats
- PostgreSQL-native
- Highway stores application data and workflow state in your PostgreSQL database. Exit is a
standard database export (
pg_dump) that any PostgreSQL installation can read. - Open formats
- Exports are provided as SQL, CSV or JSON as appropriate, and any competent replacement supplier can read them.
- Your infrastructure
- Where systems run on your own infrastructure, the data stays under your control throughout.
Migration and handover support
On termination or expiry we provide an agreed exit plan covering the final data export, documentation handover, knowledge-transfer sessions with your team or the incoming supplier, and a wind-down of access. The contract defines the exit period and any assistance days. The period is typically 30 to 90 days, sized to the engagement.
Deletion certificate
After exit, we delete the personal and customer data we hold, or return it if you prefer, and certify deletion in writing on request, as committed to in our Data Processing Agreement.
