Services

How we work with you

Our engineers take software platforms, distributed systems and workflow automation from architecture to live service and support, as they do for our own.

What we do

Software platform development

We design and deliver bespoke platforms end to end, from the first architecture review to a service running in production that your own engineers can operate without us.

Architecture and design · Full-stack delivery · API and service design · Hardening for live service

Distributed systems

We build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable systems designed for reliability under load, using established concurrency and messaging patterns.

Scalability and resilience · Concurrency patterns · Fault isolation · Performance tuning

Workflow automation

We design and implement durable workflow orchestration, including event-driven flows, human-in-the-loop steps and custom workflows, and deploy and configure our Highway engine where it suits.

Workflow design · Highway deployment · Event-driven flows · Human-in-the-loop steps

Cloud and data infrastructure

We design and build cloud and data infrastructure: environments that can be rebuilt from their own definitions, monitoring that shows what is happening, backups that have been restored from, and a running cost that is known before it arrives.

AWS architecture · PostgreSQL at scale · CI/CD and infrastructure as code · Monitoring and observability

Integration

We connect systems, APIs and third-party services, and bridge legacy platforms to modern infrastructure in stages, without a big-bang migration.

API integration · Webhooks and connectors · Legacy system bridges · Data pipelines

Support and consultancy

We provide ongoing support, training and engineering consultancy for the systems you depend on, through the engineers who build and operate our own.

Technical support · Architecture review · Team training · Security hardening

Engagement

How we engage

  1. Step 1 A scoped plan

Each engagement starts with a scoped implementation plan covering architecture review, deployment, data migration where needed and hands-on training for your team.

  2. Step 2 Documentation as a deliverable

Documentation is part of every delivery, written so that your engineers can run the system without us.

  3. Step 3 Contract terms

Where we process personal data, we sign a Data Processing Agreement aligned with UK GDPR Article 28. Severity definitions and maintenance windows are published in advance, and an exit plan is agreed in the contract.

  4. Step 4 Support from the engineers who build

Support comes directly from the engineers who design and build our systems, so you deal with the people who can fix the problem.

Questions

Common questions

How does an engagement start?

It starts with a scoped implementation plan covering an architecture review, the deployment approach, any data migration and the training your team needs. The plan, support hours and response commitments are agreed in the contract before work begins.

Do you sign a Data Processing Agreement?

Yes, where we process personal data on your behalf. We work under a signed DPA aligned with UK GDPR Article 28. The terms we offer are summarised on the DPA page, and requests go to legal@rodmena.co.uk.

Can you work on our own infrastructure?

Yes, customer deployments run wherever you choose, most often on your own infrastructure or in UK and EU cloud regions, so the data stays under your control.

What are your response times?

Response and resolution targets, uptime commitments and support hours are agreed per contract. Severity definitions and the maintenance approach are published on the Service and SLA page.
